MY THOUGHTS/REVIEW ON THE SHADOWHUNTERS PREMIERE

Let me start off by saying my thoughts were pretty low on how this show was going to turn out after that 7-minute clip. But I was pleasantly surprised!😊

Were some lines cringe worthy? Yes.

Were the special effects not so phenomenal? Sure.

But there were also a couple of bright spots in the show.

FOR EXAMPLE SIMON LEWIS.

I think Alberto had not only the best lines in the show, but was also the best actor. By the end of the episode, I kept thinking, "Why the heck would Clary want Jace when she can have Simon?"

But hey, I'm a Sizzy shipper so it works for me.

Speaking of Sizzy, someone else I enjoyed was Isabelle Lightwood.

I knew Isabelle was going to be pretty because, well, it's Isabelle. But DAYUM, Emeraude is BEAUTIFUL. If I were Jace, I wouldn't even care that we grew up together, I'd still tap that.

(Again, HUGE Sizzy shipper)

I think Emeraude acted incredibly well considering the lines they gave her. Imma be honest, the girl was basically talking in cliches the entire episode.

Isabelle to Clary: You have to take hold of your destiny.

Me: okay...that's sounds fake but okay.

LOVED ALEC😍😍😍

Matt didn't get nearly enough screen time, but when he did he was the only one in the entire cast that made any sense.

There was this one part in particular that just pissed me off to no end. They were getting ready to interrogate this demon at the Pandemonium club, and Isabelle shows up with a platinum wig. Alec asks why she needs to wear a wig and her reply is because demons love blondes. But then Alec reminds her that her wig is platinum. But then Jace says that Isabelle did a good job because demons do love blondes. (Which was completely ignoring Alec if you ask me) After that, they get to the Pandemonium club, and Isabelle is intended to be some sort of "distraction" to the demons. So she starts go-go dancing on this table. And guess what she did after that?

SHE TOOK THE WIG OFF

I'M SORRY...WTF?!?!?!?

WHY DAFUQ DID WE EVEN HAVE THAT ENTIRE CONVERSATION THEN?!?!?!

I almost wanted Alec to jump on that table so he could snatch that godforsaken wig!

I ALSO LIKED CLARY

Again, not given the best lines, but when Jocelyn was kidnapped I felt like I could feel her emotions.

Oh, wait can we talk about Jocelyn's fighting!?!?!

I feel like that was the only fight scene in the show that made me feel anything. That lady was a complete badass. (BTW can anyone explain how runes work because I wasn't aware they had the ability to turn you into Zuko from The Last Airbender.)

WHOSE IDEA WAS IT TO PUT VALENTINE IN CHERNOBYL!?!?!?!

OMG, out of every other place on earth it had to be Chernobyl.

OMG Jace was just so cringe

I don't know why Jace hasn't been able to transfer on screen, but his line delivery was...it was just so bad.

His "banter" with Clary was simply horrendous, I could barely watch it without cringing. Obviously, Dom usually doesn't have an American accent so maybe it'll get better, but as for now...

I think what the show also did a bad job on was the pacing. I just felt like there was way too much going on in episode 1. (although episode 2 is on the Freeform app and I can say it's a bit better than the first episode)

(Side Note: Isaiah Mustafa will be my baby daddy)
